CMA CGM has announced that it is imposing rate increases and peak season surcharges “in response to the strong rebound of volumes and capacity shortages.”

From july 14, a $250 per TEU and $ 400 per FEU and 40 foot high-cube container rate increase will be levied on cargo from north west indian pakistan bound for Europe and the Mediterranean.

From july 20, a $500 per TEU and $ 775 per FEU increase will be levied on cargo from Asia to the Caribbean with the exception of French West indies and Guyana.

From August 1, a $250 per TEU increase will be levied on cargo from Asia to west Africa.

From july 13, a 150 euro ($188.56) per TEU increase will be applied to cargo from north Europe to the Caribbean, but not to the French West indies, Guyana, Central America and West Coast south America.

Also peak season surchages will apply from july 15 with a $ 200 per TEU and $ 400 per FEU and 40-foot high cube container on cargo from south and East india to Europe and the Mediterranean.

From August 1, a $ 200 per TEU peak season surcharge will apply on cargo moving between Asia and North Europe, including the Baltic, Russia and the UK with these also being subject to a currency adjustment factor.
